1,050 Pets Rescued in Just 10 Days — Because You Cared

In the aftermath of historic floods across Central Texas, a heartwarming mission is soaring into the skies — literally.

In just over two weeks, Wings of Rescue, with the support of caring donors and animal welfare allies like Best Friends Animal Society, has saved more than 1,050 dogs and cats from overcrowded and flood-threatened shelters. These pets — once homeless and waiting for adoption — now have a second chance at life.

 700 Pets Airlifted From Texas

Over the past 10 days, more than 700 unowned dogs and cats have been flown out of flood-stricken shelters in Central Texas. Many of these shelters had already been operating at capacity before the disaster. Without rapid action, these animals faced a bleak future.

But now, they’re on their way to loving homes and no-kill shelters across the country.

And it didn’t stop with pets. Thanks to an outpouring of donations and volunteer help, Wings of Rescue also delivered 11 tons of emergency relief — including food, veterinary supplies, and humanitarian aid — directly to the hardest-hit communities in Texas.

The mission continues:

• Friday: 250 cats will leave overcrowded Florida shelters for safe havens in New York.

• Saturday: 70 medium and large dogs will fly from California to open arms in Maine.
