A$AP Rocky Opens Up About Life with His and Rihanna’s New Daughter, Rocki — and the Sweet Way He Earned Rihanna’s Trust
For A$AP Rocky and Rihanna, life as parents has always been about learning together — but this time, it feels brand new. With the arrival of their first daughter, Rocki, the couple is discovering a softer, more protective side of themselves, especially Rihanna, who, according to Rocky, has been “all heart and no compromise” when it comes to her little girl.
In a recent interview, the rapper-turned-devoted dad opened up about what it’s been like adjusting to life with their newest addition. “It’s crazy,” he laughed. “We thought we knew everything after two boys, but having a daughter? Whole different world. I didn’t think something so small could flip the house upside down like that.”
Rocky and Rihanna already share two sons — RZA, born in 2022, and Riot, born in 2023 — both of whom have grown up surrounded by love, music, and playfulness. But baby Rocki, born earlier this year, has changed the rhythm of their household in a way neither expected.
“Rih’s different with her,” Rocky admitted, smiling. “She’s always been a hands-on mom, but with Rocki? She don’t let her out of her sight. I’m talking always — she’ll hold her even when she’s asleep. It’s beautiful, but she barely lets anyone else touch her. Even me sometimes,” he added with a playful grin.
The couple, who have long balanced global superstardom with their growing family, are navigating this new chapter quietly and privately. Friends say Rihanna’s instinct to protect comes from a place of deep maternal love — and a bit of first-time-daughter caution. “Rih’s protective, especially with her little girl,” one insider shared. “She wants Rocki to grow up surrounded by love and security before the world ever gets a look.”
Still, Rocky, who has proven himself to be a patient and doting father, found his own gentle way to show Rihanna that he can handle their daughter with just as much care. “I had to earn my way back in,” he joked. “Rih would give me that side-eye every time I tried to take her. So I figured I’d show her I still got it.”
That proof came in the form of something surprisingly simple — but deeply meaningful. After years of fathering RZA and Riot, Rocky perfected one particular skill: the rock-and-hum. It’s his trademark move — a rhythmic sway paired with a low, soothing hum that puts his kids to sleep in minutes.
“One night, Rih was exhausted,” he recalled. “I just said, ‘Let me try.’ I took Rocki, started humming this old soul tune, and in like thirty seconds, she was out cold. Rih just stared at me — like, ‘Okay, maybe you can do this.’”
Since then, Rocky’s earned more time with his baby girl — often spotted carrying her in a soft wrap during walks or sitting with her on the studio couch while Rihanna records. “I want my kids to grow up seeing us doing what we love, but always knowing they come first,” he said.
Though both parents keep their private lives largely out of the spotlight, those close to them describe their home as filled with laughter, music, and a lot of sibling chaos. “RZA’s already acting like the boss, Riot’s the wild card, and Rocki — she’s the calm in the storm,” Rocky said proudly.
When asked how life has changed since having a daughter, he smiled softly. “I don’t know, man. It just hits different. She looks at me, and I feel like I gotta be the best version of myself — every day. That’s her superpower already.”
