Joycelyn Savage is breaking her silence—and she’s standing firmly by R. Kelly’s side. The 29-year-old, who’s long been linked to the disgraced R&B star, held a brief press conference to declare her loyalty, love, and ongoing hope for his release from prison.
“I just want to come out here and let you guys know that I am not a victim,” Savage said. “I’ve been with Robert for 10 years… Just three years ago, I proposed to Robert and he said yes. We are planning on getting married and having a family.”
R. Kelly, 57, is currently serving a 30-year sentence for charges including racketeering, sexual exploitation of children, and human trafficking-related offenses. Despite the severity of his conviction, Savage is adamant that he deserves “righteous justice” and calls for his release.
Her comments came as a direct response to her parents, Jonjelyn and Timothy Savage, who recently spoke out against Kelly’s request for a presidential pardon. They claim their daughter is still under the singer’s control and have pleaded for a private conversation with her.
Joycelyn, however, made it clear she’s not interested: “I choose not to call my parents. I’m a grown woman… I’m happy where I’m at. I’m in love, and I’m good.”
Her emotional statement has sparked a flurry of reactions online—some expressing concern, others supporting her right to choose her own path, no matter how controversial. Whether this is love, denial, or defiance, one thing is certain: Joycelyn Savage is standing by her man, for better or worse.
