Tyler Perry is giving fans exactly what they’ve been waiting for! The media mogul has officially locked in the cast for his highly-anticipated sequel, Why Did I Get Married Again?, coming exclusively to Netflix.

Joining Perry in the film are Taraji P. Henson, Jill Scott, Richard T. Jones, Tasha Smith, Michael Jai White, Lamman Rucker, Sharon Leal, along with fresh faces Armani Greer, Everett Osborne, Da’Vinchi, Laya Deleon Hayes, Jaden Michael, Charles L. Smith, Derrick A. King, and Sydney Winbush.

The sequel follows up on Perry’s 2007 classic Why Did I Get Married?, which was adapted from his stage play. The original explored the ups and downs of four married couples who would reconnect during a yearly vacation — only to have secrets and drama test their bonds.

This time around, the couples reunite for a joyful occasion: Marcus (Michael Jai White) and Angela’s (Tasha Smith) daughter’s wedding. But as the families come together, old tensions resurface, new conflicts emerge, and the next generation proves they’re just as complicated as their parents.

Netflix promises that Why Did I Get Married Again? will bring the same laughs, tears, and messy relationship truths that made the original a cultural staple. With Taraji P. Henson joining the crew and Perry himself back in the mix, this sequel is already shaping up to be one of the biggest streaming events of 2025.
