Beyoncé is turning the Cowboy Carter Tour into a family affair.

Last night, as she opened her newest all-stadium concert for a historic sold-out audience in Inglewood, California, the pop superstar brought her daughter Rumi on stage for the first time, fittingly during a rendition of the song “Protector.”

As seen in the clip below, Beyoncé launched into the Cowboy Carter track while first being joined by her eldest daughter, Blue Ivy, 13, who danced behind her.

Then, Queen Bey had an even bigger surprise for the audience, when seven-year-old Rumi ran out to join her sister and mom. “Give it up for Rumi, y’all,” Beyoncé said, resulting in cheers from the audience.

Rumi smiled for the crowd and even waved at one point, causing Beyoncé to laugh as she knelt and sang the song directly to her daughter, who is the youngest member of the Carter family alongside her twin brother, Sir.

The trio glittered together on stage, with Beyoncé and Blue sporting matching check outfits from Burberry that were covered in sequins, while little Rumi stepped out in a shimmering gold minidress with matching cowboy boots.

“Protector” is Beyoncé’s ode to motherhood, and the lyrics detail the ways in which she hopes to care for her children, but also further their dreams in any way she can. “And I will lead you down that road if you lose your way / Born to be a protector,” she sings. “Even though I know, someday, you’re gonna shine on your own / I will be your projector.”

Rumi actually makes a cameo on the Cowboy Carter song, and she can be heard at the very beginning of the track, saying, “Mom, can I hear the lullaby? Please?”

It’s rare that we see glimpses of Beyoncé’s youngest daughter, but Bey has made it a bit of a tradition to bring her children out on her recent concert tours. During the Renaissance World Tour, Blue Ivy showed up for a number of stops to take part in a dance break for the songs “My Power” and “Black Parade” (and at one point, Rumi was seen cheering on her big sister).

With Cowboy Carter being deemed “Act II” of a three-part project, it seems Beyoncé is bringing out a new kid with each respective tour. We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for Sir whenever the next major concert event rolls around.
