During a lively appearance on “Today with Jenna & Friends,” Cardi was asked whether she could ever imagine getting married again. Her answer was refreshingly honest: “Yeah, I’ll get married again, yes. I believe in love. I’m like a hopeless romantic.”
Her hopeful outlook is a stark contrast to Offset’s. The former Migos rapper made it clear on the Full Send Podcast that marriage is off the table for him. “It’s not for me. I’ve done it, had three kids with it. It’s like a mission that’s been complete,” he said, cautioning others about the challenges of married life. “Don’t get married unless you’re cool with changing your life. If you got a partner, that’s different. Especially when it’s written and it’s a real thing.”
Offset also touched on how demanding careers can complicate relationships: “I wouldn’t tell you to get married while you’re moving. Wait till you get that money. I got to party sometimes, I got to shut down, they come with the career.”
The split has spilled over into Offset’s new album, KIARA. On the closing track “Move On,” he airs grievances from their marriage, rapping, “You never cooked n-ggas no food, you just want go out to Nobu.” He doesn’t hold back, adding, “You fucked around with the wrong dude, Hope your next n-gga be great,” referencing Cardi’s headline-grabbing romance with NFL star Stefon Diggs.
Offset seems determined to leave the past behind, rapping, “Fuck the time that we had, it’s erased.”
