After almost three decades together, Akon’s longtime wife, Tomeka Thiam, is officially pulling the plug on their marriage.

According to newly filed court documents, Tomeka filed for divorce just four days before what would’ve been their 29th wedding anniversary, citing irreconcilable differences. The filing notes that the couple tied the knot back in September 1996 and share a 17-year-old child.

Tomeka is requesting joint legal custody of their teen but is asking for primary physical custody. She’s also seeking spousal support, while making it clear she doesn’t want Akon to receive any financial support from her.
